Foreign Participation at IIPTF-2009 Down

Yes, the number of foreign business delegates/buyers and exhibitors was down from previous years. There were foreign delegates/buyers from 21 countries at the 2008 edition, whereas there were 12 countries represented in IIPTF-2009.
There were cancellations of stall bookings and delegate registrations from foreign countries for IIPTF-2009. The reason given for these was the global economic turndown.
The global turndown did not dissuade PETCO, a leading USA-based specialty retailer with over 900 stores, from sending their chief buyer to IIPTF-2009. We thank PETCO and other foreign delegates for attending. We also thank all the other foreign delegates and the foreign companies who sent representatives to support their Indian distributors/partners.
Temporary Setback: The organizers consider the cancellations by others for the reason given to be a temporary setback and vow to stay the course with additional editions of the India International Pet Trade Fair in the years to follow.
