The Second India International Pet Trade Fair 2008 organized by Creature Companions Magazine, will be held between February 29 & March 2 in New Delhi. This year, the Fair has successfully made tie-ups with the London based international marketing research company Euromonitor as a knowledge partner and Pets Europe Magazine as a trade media partner for world wide promotions.
One of the event’s marketing preparations is an association with Radio Meow and various other brands that are likely to participate in IIPTF, India’s only pet trade fair. IIPTF will focus on a gathering of pet professionals from all over India and abroad.
IIPTF’2008 will be the biggest Pet Fair to be launched in South Asia with some of the world’s most popular brands being part of it. It will be an excellent opportunity for all those associated with the pet industry in India to interact with dealers, distributes, retailers and marketing experts from various parts of the world who will be participating in the trade fair.
At the same time, IIPTF’2008 will be a golden opportunity for foreign manufacturers, exporters, dealers and retailers to explore the Indian pet market and interact with potential buyers for their brands and products. With the government policies bent in favour of foreign imports, this is the best time to explore possible opportunities in India.
Prasun Kumar, Marketing Expert, says, “Export duties on pet products in India have gone down considerably. This is the most favourable time for foreign brands to enter Indian markets looking to expand their business.”
The Indian government is yet to recognize this sector and its growth. The pet industry has immense potential in India as the sector still remains unexplored and is likely to expand in the coming few years. The only department recognized by the Indian government so far is animal husbandry and IIPTF aims at bringing the pet industry in focus this year. The event will attempt to bring the government’s recognition to the hidden potential of the pet industry and distinguish it as a commercial sector.
IIPTF’2008 will be a great opportunity for those associated with the pet industry both locally as well as abroad to explore the international market size and potential in this sector at all levels.
Owing to several changes in lifestyle trends, working culture and emergence of more and more nuclear families, India is opening its doors to the pet industry in a big way. The development of the pet industry in the country is speeding up at the rate of 10-15 percent annually. Indian markets are still fairly new to this concept and that makes them a favourable ground for potential players. Especially after the Chinese pet industry arriving on the brink of saturation, India remains as a safe bet.
It is estimated that by 2010, India will share a 70 percent chunk of the pet industry as more people are going to adopt a considerable number of pets in the coming few years. IIPTF’2008 will be a great place for pet owners as well as businessmen and all those associated with the pet industry to interact under one roof. It will be an excellent opportunity for Indian exporters to mingle with foreign buyers, prospective clients, distributors and dealers from various parts of the world including the US, Singapore, UK, China, Malaysia such as Caroline Metcalfe -Advanta Products-UK, Linda Radle – Pets Paradise- Australia, Christian Bandot – Eurosiam – France, Derek Young – Farm & Pet Place Ltd. – UK and many more.
Pet owners will be able to explore various brands for pet food and accessories and can assess their nutrients, benefits and quality. They will also be able to interact with famous veterinarians, breeders, nutritionists, pet psychologists and voice their opinions and suggestions.
The only way to get to know the best is by means of exploration and IIPTF’2008 will extend this opportunity at its best.
Thanking you.
